Firm History

Cygan Hayes grew out of an accounting practice started in the 1940's by Thomas Blanchfield. The original practice focused on serving the accounting and tax needs of family owned businesses. As the corporate landscape changed so did the firm. The practice added new services complimented by a growing staff of highly trained professionals. The practice adopted the name Blanchfield, Doherty, Peterson, Ltd., and over the years grew and expanded its operations in the Chicagoland area.

The firm is now led by the partners Glenn Cygan and Jeff Hayes. Both Glenn and Jeff are CPA's who have been with the firm their entire career. In July 2007, the firm name was changed to Cygan Hayes, Ltd. to reflect the current decision makers and position the firm for the future.

Every CPA firm can prepare a tax return, conduct an audit or maintain the books, but not every firm is capable of providing the level of attention that Cygan Hayes provides.
